Last week, the Wolf Moon—the first full moon of 2025—illuminated the sky, casting its glow over all of us. This January moon, known for its symbolism of renewal and introspection, reminds us to reconnect with ourselves and our surroundings. The Wolf Moon, named for its connection to the first moon of the year, embodies the awareness of a wolf—focused, alert, and tuned into its environment. It’s a time to reassess balance in our lives, recalibrating how we show up for our community, our work, and our families. And these themes were ever-present for me this past week.

Charging my crystals under the moon’s beams and speaking my affirmations into the night felt like a small but powerful release of the ego. In a way, it was a reminder to shed some of the weight we carry with us each day. In my last post, I shared my focus for 2025: pivoting. This past week, I’ve been lucky to have the chance to talk through that intention, helping me articulate exactly what I want from this shift.

One thing that’s become clear is how liberating it feels to move away from a "resolution" mindset. Resolutions often come with an implicit expectation of failure or self-imposed guilt when we don’t meet them. There’s a certain kind of pressure that can trap us, as if we’re supposed to achieve something specific to be successful. But pivoting, as I see it, is more fluid. It’s about evolving—finding new paths and giving ourselves grace when things don’t go as planned. It’s less about a rigid destination and more about a mindful journey.

I’ve been reflecting on how fragile we all are, how easy it is to fall into the trap of perfectionism, and how challenging it can be to stay present in the moment. Life can feel overwhelming, especially with everything happening around us—both on a global scale and in the personal space of our own minds. But there’s something strangely beautiful about embracing our own fragility. It’s humbling to realize we’re all just trying to get by, trying to find our way, just like everyone else. It’s a reminder that the competition we feel is often just with ourselves.

This week, with the weight of the world heavy on all of us, I turned to music as my escape. Music has this magical ability to transport us—to evoke emotions or set a scene. Winter, with its mix of cold, sunny days and quiet, frigid nights, has its own unique energy. I created two playlists: one with upbeat, pop influences and the other with softer, introspective vibes. Both capture the essence of winter, without the holiday nostalgia.

As we move into Aquarius season, the stars invite us—especially those of us with Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius)—to break free from outdated patterns and embrace our unique gifts. It’s a time to lean into change, to explore new ways we can contribute to the growth of our communities. There’s a lot of uncertainty ahead, but finding connection with others and embracing new habits can help anchor us as we navigate the unknown.
